Press Release

Glenn Superior Court's New Court Executive Officer

Glenn County Superior Court is pleased to announce that Chris Ruhl has been selected as the Court’s next Court Executive Officer (CEO).  Ruhl will succeed current CEO Diana Baca, who has served the Court in that role since August 1, 2022.

Since 2017, Ruhl has served as the CEO in Monterey County Superior Court.  From 2014-2017, he was the CEO in Mendocino County Superior Court.  He has served in various positions in state and local court administration in Minnesota, Washington State and California since 2001.

Ruhl said: “I am very pleased and excited to be able to serve as the next CEO of Glenn County Superior Court.  This is an exciting time to join the Court as it embraces the fresh opportunities created by the new courthouse facility in Willows and the consolidation of all court services in that facility.  I look forward to working together with the Court’s judicial officers and staff to explore those opportunities, and to working with the other justice partners in the Glenn County community.”

Presiding Judge Donald Byrd said: “I have known Chris Ruhl for years and can attest that he is known and recognized across the Judicial Branch of California for his exemplary leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.  Glenn County Superior Court is fortunate to have someone with over two decades of court management in California, Washington and Minnesota join our court.”

Ruhl will begin as CEO on Jan. 29, 2024.
